Construction numbers continue to tell a story of slow times in Fort St. John.
The latest civic building inspection report says 28 permits were issued in August, with a total value of roughly $1.94 million.
That brings the year-to-date total to 157 permits, at a value of almost $14.5 million. Now, when you compare this year’s numbers to last year’s, you can clearly see evidence of the slowdown.
There have been only 3/4 of the permits issues this year compared to last, and only 1/4 the value. Of course, the Enerplex is a major factor in last year’s high numbers.
The city took in $7,500 in revenues from the 157 permits issued in August, for a year-to-date total of $67,200.
