Tickets are still available at Greensmart Homes for this week’s 50th anniversary celebrations of the Fort St. John Petroleum Association.
Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty will be among the dignitaries in attendance, but General Manager Tyler Kosick now says Prime Minister Harper and Premier Campbell will not be making appearances.
The Association will host a variety of anniversary functions, including a parade and the formal banquet on the 29th. The banquet is set for 6pm, at the Fort St. John Curling Club and marshalling for the parade will take place at the Petro-Can truck stop on the city’s west end at 10am.
Featuring equipment from local area oilfield companies, the parade will proceed down 100th avenue to 100th street, and then finish by heading south on 100th street, to the Alaska Highway.
