No locals on NWT chopper crash

The RCMP say they do not believe anyone from the Peace Region was onboard a fatal helicopter crash in the Northwest Territories.

A helicopter carrying a pilot, a guide and a hunter were on board when it crashed in the Liard mountain range on Tuesday afternoon.

The pilot somehow escaped the helicopter, and was airlifted to hospital. Staff Sergeant Francis Cullen says one of the victims might be from outside of Canada.

Cullen says the RCMP are still working to get the bodies out of the remote area.

The RCMP continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
