Dawson Creek arrest in International Cocaine Smuggling Case

An international cocaine smuggling investigation results in arrest and seizure in Dawson Creek.

An ongoing joint investigation between the North District Regional General Investigation Section, the Dawson Creek RCMP drug section, the Fort St. John RCMP drug section, Grande Prairie RCMP drug section, Canada Post and the Canadian Border Services Agency came to its conclusion with an arrest in Dawson Creek.

The investigation centred around the international smuggling of cocaine to Canada, namely the Peace region of British Columbia, from the Caribbean.  On August 3rd, the investigation climaxed with the arrest of a suspect in Dawson Creek by members of the RCMP.  A significant quantity of cocaine was seized over the course of the investigation.

A 29 year old male has been charged with importing cocaine into Canada and cocaine possession for the purpose of trafficking.  The male suspect was released on bail by a Judicial Justice of the Peace with numerous conditions pending his first appearance before a Provincial Court Judge.
