The local RCMP is seeking public assistance in locating what is believed to be a large black truck involved in a hit and run crash this morning in the city’s northeast sector.

A police release doesn’t give a specific time, but it says the incident occurred, at the intersection of 113th avenue and 96th street.

The suspect vehicle hit a red pickup, reportedly parked well off the street, in a residential driveway. Police say judging by skid marks at the scene, the suspect vehicle likely had large off-road tires with a deep tread.

Those skid marks have also led police to believe the suspect vehicle was doing “donuts” in the intersection and went up onto the curb and struck the rear of the parked pick-up.

Public information assistance calls are being taken at the usual RCMP detachment and crime stoppers numbers…250-787-8140 and 1-800-222-8477.
