Update – Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued

Update – As of 5:20pm Friday, the Severe Thunderstorm Warning has ended for Fort St. John.

 

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING ISSUED For Fort St John BY ENVIRONMENT CANADA
BULLETIN ISSUED AT: 4.51 PM PDT FRIDAY 10 JULY 2009

RADAR AND SATELLITE IMAGES SHOW AN INTENSE THUNDERSTORM IS LOCATED ABOUT 50 KILOMETRES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF HUDSONS HOPE. THE THUNDERSTORM IS MOVING SOUTHEASTWARD AT 50 KM/H AND WILL SOON MOVE ACROSS HIGHWAY 97 BETWEEN CHETWYND AND DAWSON CREEK. THE STORM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE WIND GUSTS TO 90 KM/H, LARGE HAIL AND HEAVY DOWNPOURS. THIS IS A WARNING THAT SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE IMMINENT OR OCCURRING IN THESE REGIONS. REMEMBER SOME SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE TORNADOES..LISTEN FOR UPDATED WARNINGS.
