The Canadian Utility Construction Corporation has donated $1,500 to the construction of the Calvin Kruk Centre for the Arts in Dawson Creek.
Dawson Creek Mayor Mike Bernier says even though the company is relativly new to the area, it is already demonstrating it’s dedication to participate in the community.
The funding, in combination with $6.4 million in federal and provincial grants, moves the development of the centre – in honour of the late mayor of Dawson Creek – one step closer to reality.
President and CEO of Canadian Utility Construction Corp., Tom Kramer says the company is proud to support the project, which will strengthen and support the Dawson Creek community.
The City’s historic post office building will be converted into a community and cultural centre and will include a multi-purpose theatre, meeting rooms, dance and textile studios and administrative offices. The centre will provide a venue for local arts, and will showcase cultural diversity in the South Peace River area.
