This holiday season, all of our Supporters are entered to win an $800 Shopping Spree Giveaway!

The Bear Mountain Wind Park in Dawson Creek is one step closer to reality, after it received its first blade for a tower this week.

The 41 metre-long blade was shipped all the way from Thunder Bay, Ontario via train cars. Top sections of the 78-meter towers were manufactured in Saskatchewan and traveled by a flatbed truck.

The project started taking form last year, when concrete foundations were poured and electrical connections were installed.

Once it is completed this November, it will be the first operational Wind Park in BC. It is expected to generate 102 MW of power.

The Wind Park is owned by Calgary-based AltaGas and was initiated by Peace Energy Cooperative.
