The Dawson Creek RCMP detachment is adding four more police officers dedicated for service to rural communities.
The detachment is working with Electoral Area Director of Area “D”, Wayne Hiebert, to find a suitable location for its satellite detachment.
Hiebert says after the recent EnCana bombings and threats, the added police force will be welcomed.

In a letter addressed from the RCMP to residents of rural communities, Sergeant Stephen Grant says the added crew will provide a dedicated, enhanced policing service to the rural community.
Grant says since the beginning of the incidents, the police service have often performed unheralded, but important functions to advance the investigations.
Meanwhile, Hiebert says the satellite detachment is likely to be located in Tomslake. He says the area will be perfect location for the new RCMP members.
