Our annual Poker Ride and Gymkhana was a great success this past weekend in Hudson’s Hope in spite of some inclement weather. The Poker Ride saddle was won by Avis Hayes of Chetwynd with a hand of three aces; the second place breast collar won by Jim Brown and third place bridle won by Zack Milliken of Hudson’s Hope. The oldest rider on the trail was Bob Curzon from Hudson’s Hope, the youngest (5 yrs. old) was Kipp Switzer and the rider from farthest away was April Gagnon. The farthest out of province rider was Blaine McGillvray.

Sunday’s gymkhana winners were as follows – Leadline Division – Wesley Duggan, 10 & Under Division – Tommi Sue Little, 11 – 13 Year Division – Brooke Soychuck (FSJ), 14 – 16 Year Division – Frankie Wilson, 17 – 39 Year Division – Leigh Abbott (FSJ), 40 and Over Division – Jim Shepherd (Hudson’s Hope). The Double H Saddle Club thanks all the participants and especially their sponsors for this event – Talisman Energy, Milliken Industries, J & T Shepherd, Diania Harris, Rein & Tack (Chetwynd) and CF Franklin.
