Local youth gets Provincial Gold Medal in auto service

A local youth has been awarded a Provincial Gold Medal in automotive service.

Stephen Fedderly of the North Peace Secondary School was one of 45 B.C. students to compete at the provincial and national Skills Competitions.

The competitions were held in Charlottetown, PEI, this past May. Fedderly was recognized on Monday in Victoria for achieving top ranking results at the provincial and national competition.

In a news release on Monday, Pat Pimm says Fedderly’s family, school, and community of Baldennel is very proud of his accomplishment.

Students competed in 32 different areas ranging from carpentry and automotive services to 3D character animation. Nineteen secondary and post-secondary students won medals, with Team B.C. earning twelve gold, three silver, and four bronze awards.

Pimm says British Columbian youth have proven that B.C. is the province of innovation, trades, and technology.
