Yet another fire has erupted near the Liard River Hot Springs.
The fire, which is 80 hectares in size, is around 50 kilometers away from the Smith/Liard fire.
Fire information officer Jillian Chimko says this fire started as a result of a lightning strike.

Officials confirmed that the two-week old Smith/Liard fire also broke out due to lightning storms in the area.
Chimko says the number of lightning-caused fires this year is pretty much on par with last year. Meanwhile, the Smith/Liard fire remains 230 suqare kilometres in size, and 30 per cent contained.
15 residents in Coal River, Fireside and the Muddy River Indian Reserve #1 remain on alert. Chimko says that number has changed dramatically from 60 residents from last week.

And another fire is burning 12 miles North East of Prophet River. The fire is an estimated 300 hectares in size, and was discovered on Monday.
