Local youth still happy despite loss at national star search

Even though a local 18 year-old youth didn’t win a National singing competition, he says he is still proud of his accomplishments.

Justin Gies competed on Monday night in the Global Country Star Search at the Winspear Centre in Edmonton.

While he didn’t take away top prize, he does say he is proud that he made it into the remaining five.

On Monday night, Gies sang, "Proud of the House we Built" by Brooks and Dunn. He said he tried his best, and he is proud of that.
