Sandy McDonald has broken a long standing Blizzard record

**Submitted

Sandy McDonald broke the long standing 16 km Baldonnel time women’s record, Thursday night, with a 26:00 minute time. That shatters the old mark of 26:11 set by Janelle Morrison back on the 4 of July in 1997.

Colter Young was fastest of the night at 22:40, so the men’s record of 21:16 set back in 1987 is safe for the moment. Bob Andrews was second at 25:17 and Gilbert Bilodeau third at 25:50 for a personal best time. Sandy McDonald was 4th at 26:00 and Gord Harris 5th at 26:03.

Roger St. Jean was 6th at 26:15, Richard Wood 27:55, Sam Keats 28:41, Kevin Shaw 29:25, Ken Nix 29:46, Owen Giebelhaus 30:49, Rob Churchill 31:51 and Adam Currie 33:07.

Connor McDonnell won the 8 k at 27:30. Derek and Trevor McDonnell were next at 30:29.
Club Road Championship, Sunday, starting at the Pineview Pullout at 10:00 am.
