A local woman looking to get close to Alan Jackson, instead found herself maxed-out and empty handed.
Like many others in the Peace Region, Penny Helgason signed up online for the Alan Jackson Concert pre-sale on Wednesday.
Helgason says she had secured seats close to the stage, but she says a glitch in the system meant she never got her tickets.
Instead, after trying her purchase numerous times, she earned a $32,000 credit card bill.

However, Encana Events Centre spokesperson Ryan MacIvor says the glitch was random and didn’t affect too many people.

He says the pre-authorizations should have been wiped off the account in two business days.
But, that time has now passed, and Helgason says both her credit cards are still maxed out.

MacIvor says anyone who didn’t get to purchase tickets could still win them through media contests.
If a similar problem has happened to anyone else, MacIvor encourages them to call the Encana Events Center at 250-782-7440.
