The fire located near Liard River Hot Springs has doubled in size.
Around 80 firefighters were called to the fire on Tuesday. It’s located at the junction of the Smith and Liard Rivers, northwest of Fort Nelson.
On Tuesday, the fire was 260 hectare in size, but now has doubled to 500 hectares.
Fire information officer Jillian Chimko says the fire is not yet contained.

She says there are no homes or other buildings are located near the fire. The Federal Government is now saying motorists could experience up to a 3 hour delay in the area. Of course this all depends on the current conditions of the fire.
Motorists are asked to check www.drivebc.com for any road closures throughout the day.
