Grande Prairie was in town on Sunday to play two games against the Fort St. John Pee Wees, and one game against the Fort St. John bantam/midgets.
In the first Pee Wee game, the Surerus/Petron PeeWees of Fort St.John won a nail biter 4-3, despite being considerably outshot. A stellar performance in net by Tayte St.Pierre-Sexsmith kept the game close, with the winner scored by Tyler Wood late in the third period.
The second Pee wee game was won by Grande Prairie 7-4.
The Randy Swanson Bantam/Midgets won 6-1 against Grande Prairie in Sunday’s third game – a feisty affair. Fort St. John had an older team and it showed with physical play and control of most of the game.
