Officials had to euthanize a horse at the Grande Prairie Stompede.
The hose fell and broke its shoulder during the World Professional Chuckwagon Association races Friday night.
During the first heat the horse fell while racing around the third corner. The horse did not come into contact with any other horses or wagons before it fell.
This was the second horse to be put down at the Stompede since it opened on Wednesday. The first horse died when a wagon slid into another group of lead horses.
