The annual Relay for Life fundraiser is set to go today in Fort St. John.
The event will start at 12pm at Dr. Kearney School and finish at 12am Sunday. This 12 hour non-competitive relay will see people walk or run around a track at the school. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event.
Christine Woodford is a volunteer with the event and says she participates in honour of her brother.
The event will also include a special tribute to Cancer Survivors which will start at a approximately 10:30pm. If you haven’t already donated, you can still do so today by visiting Dr. Kearney School. All the proceeds go to cancer research.
In previous years the event in Fort St. John has raised anywhere from $150,000 to $180,000.
