Museum expansion begins on Tuesday

After twenty years of fundraising, the Fort St. John/North Peace Museum finally kicked off its expansion on Tuesday.

The Museum held a groundbreaking ceremony at 10 o’clock and, museum manager Daria Dolsen says, the expansion is the first of six steps, to reinvent the museum.

Over the past two decades, about $350,000 has been raised toward the expansion, including a $100,000 provincial gaming grant. The first phase will involve a 50-by-60 foot addition to the existing building, allowing for more exhibits.
