The Fort St. John Paladin Black Sox started their season at home on Sunday. In a re-match from last year’s semi-finals the Rycroft Rage was in town. This year the Rycroft team got its revenge.
The first game started with the Rage scoring early and often, building a 4-0 lead in the first. They added one in the third, before the Sox got on the board with two of their own. A solo blast in the top of the seventh made the score 6-2 which was how the game ended.
In the second game the Rage was held to just one run in the first inning but it turned out to be big as the Sox weren’t able to get their bats going. Rycroft added three more in the fifth for a 4-0 win
The pitching and fielding is looking good for the Paladin team. This is a team that usually does well with the bats, but the league has switched to wood bats this season and looks like they need to make a few adjustments.
Next home game is Wednesday, June 3 at 7:00 p.m.
