Elderly woman hits 5 vehicles during a Friday afternoon accident

The Fort St. John RCMP have released more information about an accident Friday afternoon on the Alaska Highway.

On May 22nd at approximately 1:15pm, the Fort St. John RCMP, Fort St. John Fire Department and BC Ambulance responded to a 6 vehicle collision that had occurred at the Alaska Highway and 100th avenue.

An elderly female driver had hit 5 vehicles on Highway 97 between 100th street and 100th avenue before her truck came to a stop in the ditch near Rona.  The vehicle had hit a truck at 100th street and Highway 97, then failed to stop for vehicles in front of her on the highway, hitting four vehicles at the intersection of 100th avenue and Highway 97.

There were no serious injuries, alcohol and drugs were not factors in the incident.  The accident is still under investigation.
