Liberal newcomer Pat Pimm has been named the North Peace MLA.

Before he made his victory speech to over 100 supporters, Pimm said the economy is one of the first items of business.

He said he didn’t know how the STV system would turn out. He said in the end, the voters made their choice, and that the First Past the Post will continue to be BC’s system.

Pimm said the election campaign was a tough one, but he is happy with how his campaign went.

Pimm said Independent Arthur Hadland was a good candidate. He said Hadland is very connected to the rural area, and he ran a close race.

Hadland came second in the North Peace. He said despite his loss, he is happy to have run.

Hadland said it is unfortunate to see the BC-STV system turned down, and that it would have allowed for fairer results in the next election. He also hinted he might consider running again.
