A photo timeline of the Fort Hotel Fire

The following is a series of photos from the Fort Hotel Fire on May 2nd 2009 in Fort St. John, BC.  Do you have a photo or video of the fire you’d like to share?  E-mail [email protected]

Photo:  This photo was taken at around 5:30pm as the fire began at the Fort Hotel

Photo:  At around 5:45pm the fire looked as though it was getting worse

Photo:  7:30pm the fire made it to the front of the hotel and fire crews decide to bring in an excavator to knock down the building

Photo:  This photo was taken just as the excavator started to knock down the outer walls of the building at approximately 9:30pm.

Photo:  At 10:30pm Fort St. John Fire Crews continued to battle the blaze.

Photo:  With the help of the fire, crews were able to knock down the entire building

Photo:  The east end of the building was still standing at 10:30pm when this photo was taken.

Photo:  All that stands at 11:30pm as the fire had destroyed almost the entire building.

Photo:  The aftermath….as of Sunday morning this is all the remains of the Fort Hotel.
