BC-STV information Meeting tonight

Locally, another reminder there will be a meeting tonight, at the Library, in the Cultural Centre, to discus an alternative election system again being put before voters, in the May 12th provincial election.

In a similar referendum in the 2005 election, the Single-Transferable-Vote system, received 58 percent support…just 2 percent short of passing.

This is the system, which recommends using a preferential ballot, and also, multi-member districts, of between two and seven members, increasing according to population numbers.

Tonight’s meeting is scheduled to start, at seven o’clock.
