First Nations benefit from Pacific Trail Pipeline

First Nations along the Pacific Trail Pipeline will receive three million dollars as an incentive, if a partnership with the company is reached.

A further 32 million will be granted towards the First Nations towards an equity position in the Pacific Trail Pipelines’ Project.

Federal environmental approval was given on March 18th to the billion dollar project.

The 463 kilometer natural gas pipeline runs from Summit Lake to Kitimat. Carrier Sekani Tribal Chief David Luggi says investment in the project is testimony that industry, First Nations and government can work together on projects that will result in financial returns and gainful employment that will benefit First Nations communities for generations to come.

First Nations along the pipeline corridor are in a position to receive long-term benefits from the agreements between First Nations, the provincial government and PTP.

The Terminal and KSL project are now working to finalize commercial arrangements.
