After being postponed earlier in the winter, the 5th annual Taylor Sled-dog races are set to go this weekend (March 21-22).
All races will take at Peace Island Park (4km South of Taylor). Offering a blend of hills, corners, tight forests, and wide-open straight-aways, the edge of the Peace River offers a truly enjoyable course, good for both mushers and spectators.
It should be a nice weekend, with Saturday’s forecast calling for Sunny skies with a high of -5, and Sunday’s forecast calling for light snow with a high of -6.
The $10,000 purse will bring out some of the regions top mushers, in the following fields:
* Open Class
* 6-Dog (6-mile)
* 4-Dog (4-mile)
* Skijor (4 mile)
* Kid & Mutt (1/4 Mile)
Plus, the first 100 people that come down on Saturday will get a free lunch, courtesy of the District of Taylor.
