Safety officers are still investigating the death of an oilfield worker, in Central Alberta.
The 26-year-old man, an employee of Precision Drilling, was killed in an accident at an Encana well site, about 15 kilometres west of Rimbey.
Alberta Employment and Immigration says it’s believed the death occurred, when some pipe was being lowered by workers and hit an obstruction.
However, its unclear exactly how the accident happened, because apparently nobody actually witnessed it.
Work at the site has been halted, during the investigation.
