The North Peace Historical Society has received confirmation of a $100,000 grant, from the provincial government.
The major capital project grant is from the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch of the Ministry of Housing and Social Development.
The money will go toward the first phase of a six phase expansion project at the Fort St. John and North Peace Museum at 9323 100th street.
Awarded to W.L. Construction, the phase one work has an estimated price tag of $350,000.
President Evelyn Sim says, the construction time table is now under Society Board discussion.
