The office of Provincial Energy Minister Blair Lekstrom says he, Senator Richard Neufeld and, Fort Nelson Mayor, Bill Streeper, will make a major oil and gas industry announcement at one o’clock this afternoon in Fort Nelson.
The Vancouver Sun is reporting it will be another $187 million upgrade to the Sierra Yoyo Desan resource road, that got a $40 million one just five years ago.
However, the new construction which is expected to create 1,100 jobs over four years, is said to be necessary in an anticipation of a major increase in heavy vehicular traffic associated with the development of the Horn River Basin.
Meantime, more senior government investment money is expected to be announced for this area on Monday.
