3 local boxers compete in Peachland Bronze Gloves

Three members of the Fort St. John boxing club went to Peachland, B.C., over the weekend, for the Bronze Gloves boxing tourney.

Anton Ponimarenko won his class, beating a tough Victoria fighter in the final.

Likewise, Levi Sponagle won his final against a Vancouver fighter, after having to move up a couple of weight classes just to get an opponent.

Disapppointment for Isaac McElhaney, who, according to the club, had trained his butt off for the competition. But, McElhaney was unable to find an opponent, and came back without having thrown a punch.
