The recession appears to have had little negative impact to date, on Pacific Northern Gas.

The Vancouver based company has declared a 4 point five percent quarterly dividend increase to 23 cents per share on its common shares.

Net income for the quarter ended December 31st was 3 point two million dollars, compared with 2 point 6 million, for the same quarter the previous year.

For the full year, the net income for 2008, was 5 point nine million and, that compares with 4 point four million, in 2007.

Here in the Peace Region, PNG provides gas distribution service, to Fort St. John, Dawson Creek and Tumbler Ridge.
