Flyers win game 3 in Double-OT

Coming off a 7-3 loss in Spirit River in game two, the Flyers had a full bench for Thursday night’s game three, and they sure needed it.

The first 20 minutes saw two goals for each team, with Chad Wilchynski and Mike Lefley scoring for SR, and Jeff Fast replying with a pair for the home team.

In the second the Flyers scored 3 times in 4 minutes, courtesty of Todd Alexander, Jeff Shipton, and Matt Shuya.  Responding for the Rangers was Brandon Hessler and Wilchynski (his second).

The lone goal of the third was posted by Ranger Trevor Mazurek, meaning after 60 minutes it was still tied 5-5.

The game went into overtime, and then double overtime, before, in the 95th minute of play, the Flyers finally took a 6-5 win, on a goal by Dustin Kersey.

And so, the Flyers take a 2-1 series lead, and look to find a way to win in Spirit River, on Saturday night.  Catch all the action on MooseFM, starting with the pregame show at 8:15.
