Mayor Bruce Lantz says he will be voting against the cost of living pay raise at the next council meeting.
The issue was discussed at the operating budget first review on Monday. Councillors Bruce Christensen, Lori Ackerman, Larry Evans and Dan Davies supported the pay increase.
However, Mayor Lantz and Councillors Don Irwin and Trevor Bolin said they do not support the motion.
Lantz says he understands the cost of living is going up, but he says Councillors should set an example to the community.

He says the motion is not set in stone, and a decision will likely be made at the next council meeting on Monday 9th.
The proposed amount is a little over 11 hundred dollars for Lantz, and just over 400 for councillors.
