Peace Valley OSB running at full capacity

The Peace-Valley OSB is running at full-capacity since last week.

Acting GM Don Sauderland says the company began running normally on February 26th. The plant closed its doors on January 31st due to the economic downturn, though the company used the time to perform some routine maintainance.

Sauderland believes the company hasn’t yet seen the worst of the ailing economy. He says the plant will probably see more downtime because supply and demand has yet to balance.

Meanwhile, Sauderland says Peace Valley is still looking for another General Manager. On January 15, previous General Manager Chris Baby stepped down to accept a job in Burnaby.

Sauderland says it’s hard to find someone who would excel in the position, and also enjoy life in the North.
