Consultants spent the day Thursday inspecting the facility after numerous problems were found over the past few years. One of the main issues is the corrosion inside the facility. The corrosion has been caused by a salt water system used to clean the pool.

Don Irwin with the North Peace Leisure Pool Commission says they hope to pay for the repairs with money already set aside. At the moment either site won’t give an total cost estimate, but some could start as soon as this September. The Pool will close for annual maintenance from September 5th till October 5th, which is two weeks longer than normal.
The corrosion has caused some structural issues in the building, but the consultants say its nothing to be concerned with at this time. The consultants report will provide recommendations as what should be changed and fixed in pool.
The full report from Canon Design should be available in 3 to 4 months.
