WorkSafe BC has confirmed an oil patch accident earlier this month, 77 kilometers north of Fort St. John, involving an Alberta based pipeline construction company, Willbros Limited (Canada).
A WorkSafe spokesperson says, workers were laying down a pipe last week, using a side boom unit.
She says the boom was moving forward to pick up a shorter length of pipe, from a tractor-trailer unit, when the rear lifting hook caught a longer piece of pipe.
That pipe was then pulled forward and, a worker was pinned against the tractor unit bulkhead.
At this point, there are no further details from Worksafe, although original unofficial reports indicated, the worker did not suffer life threatening injuries.
Work continues at this time, on a notice of incident but, there will be no more public information released, unless an inspection report issued.
A decision in that regard is likely to take, another two to three weeks.
