Support Fort St John News

An opening game loss to Quesnel Secondary has put the brakes on the Dr. Kearney Cougars run at the zone championships.

Last night in Vanderhoof, it was a really low scoring game, 36-27 Quesnel wins it, both teams having major troubles with their offenses, in fact, Dr. Kearney got 17 of their 27 in just the fourth quarter. So too little too late, but this is a double-knockout, so the Cougars will hope to rebound in their next game against Fort St. James, this afternoon at 3:30, and if they get hot, they could play as many as 4 games tomorrow, as they try to defy the odds, and qualify for provincials in Vancouver.
