City Council is looking at what the future holds in store for the Kid’s Arena.
Once the Enerplex is open, the Junior Sports Committee will look at handing over the building back to the city once the ice surface is not being used.
The city will decide to hold a meeting in order to discuss the transfer operations of the building. When the agreement is reached between the committee and the city, an assessement of the building will be done. Council would like to solicit proposals from community groups that wish to utilize the building.
The city expects to set pre-determined criteria to determine the best organization for the building.
Council will discuss the issues at the Council meeting on Monday.
