The city of Fort St. John is undergoing an independent property tax review.
Dr. Stanley Hamilton is a Property Tax Ratio Review Commissioner. He was asked by Council to determine if the method to which the City divides total property taxes among the property classes should be adjusted.
There are seven property classes in the city, including residential and business.
What Hamilton will be looking at is how much of the total property taxes should be paid by residential properties and how much by non-residential properties.
There will be an open house on Tuesday, February 3rd at the Quality Inn Northern Grand so owners and tenants can share their views.
