PeeWee A Flyers win Burns Lake Tournament

PEEWEE A FLYERS WIN BURNS LAKE TOURNAMENT

 

The Fort St John Peewee A Flyers travelled to Burns Lake this past weekend and came away with the tournament championship. The team played their best hockey of the season in going undefeated over four games.

 

Fort St John 3  Burns Lake 1

 

The Flyers opened the tournament with a close game against the host team. After giving up the first goal, they came back with 3 unanswered goals and shut down Burns Lake the rest of the way. Scoring for the Flyers were Lien Miller-Jeannotte (1 goal, 2 assists), Brandon Howard (1 goal), Jake Gardner (1 goal) and Thomas Webster (1 assist). Sean Gjernes played a strong game in goal. Flyers players of the game were Brandon Howard on offense and Ryan Good on defense.

 

Fort St John 8  Kitimat 1

 

After spotting their opponents the first goal, the Flyers came storming back to score a decisive win over Kitimat. It was a total team effort at both ends of the ice. Scoring for the Flyers were Thomas Webster (3 goals, 2 assists), Lien miller-Jeannotte (2 goals, 1 assist), Brandon Howard (2 assists), Ryan Good (1 goal), Jeff Bochon (1 goal), Kane Shallow (1 goal), Brittany Bakstad (1 assist), Darin O’Hanley (1 assist) and Jake Gardner (1 assist). Garet Whitford was solid in net, shutting down the Kitimat snipers. Flyers players of the game were Lien Miller-Jeannotte on offense and Brittany Bakstad on defense.

In a match up between the tournament’s undefeated teams, the Flyers came out on top with a strong team effort. Fort St John came out hard in the first period, scoring three times and then shut down their opponents the rest of the way. Scoring for the Flyers were Lien Miller-Jeannotte (2 goals), Thomas Webster (1 goal, 1 assist), Kane Shallow (1 goal), Brandon Howard (1 assist), Brayden Hickey (1 assist) and Brittany Bakstad (1 assist). Sean Gjernes backstopped the Flyers to the win in goal. Flyers players of the game were Thomas Webster on offense and Aiden June on defense.

In their final game of the tournament, the Flyers came out with a decisive win over Fort St James. Scoring for the Flyers were Jeff Bochon (4 goals, 1 assist), Jake Gardner (1 goal, 4 assists), Thomas Webster (2 goals, 1 assist), Darin O’Hanley (1 goal, 2 assists), Lien Miller-Jeannotte (2 goals), Brittany Bakstad (1 assist), Alec Burchell (1 assist) and Brandon Howard (1 assist). Garet Whitford played another strong game in goal. Flyers players of the game were Jeff Bochon on offense and Kane Shallow on defense.
