BC Avalanche Update

Warmer weather and new snow have heightened the avalanche danger again, in several parts of the Northern BC back country.

The town of Stewart in the Northwest is legally in accessable by road, as Highway 37-A has been closed because of the high avalanche danger in that region north of Prince Rupert.

Closer to home, ten centimeters of snow this week along the the Mackenzie Junction trail has also lifted the avalanche risk to extreme.  Sledders are advised to avoid the Pine Pass area including Silver Sands, until further notice.

Up to date information can be found on line at www.mackenziesnowmobileclub.ca. Latest information indicates the trails around Fort St. John, Charlie Lake and Taylor are in good condition.
