Motorists are advised to take it easy tonight as it looks like winter has returned.

Snow is falling and the wind is gusting up to 55km an hour and this is causing problems on the roads in the Peace Country.  You are advised to drive slowly on roads all around the Peace as many areas are experiencing whiteout conditions.  There is report of one accident and as of 5pm the Alaska Highway is open in both directions.

At approximately 4pm a number of vehicles were involved in an accident just west of the Baldonnel overpass on the Alaska Highway.  All the vehicles involved have been moved off the road but the RCMP are asking motorists to slow down in the area.

As for travel from the airport, things look fine at this time.  If you are traveling tonight its best you call your airline before heading to the airport to check the status of your flight.
