Jay Morrison finishes 3rd in 1500

FSJ’s Jay Morrison placed third in the men’s 1500 metres, at the Continental Qualifiers held at the Utah Olympic Oval on Sunday.

Morrison finished with a time of 1:46.61, just ahead of fourth place finisher Steven Elm of Red Deer, AB (1:46.68).

He also placed fifth in the mens 10k, a race won by American Chad Hedrick.

Leading the way for Canada was Kristina Groves, who won gold in both the women’s 1500, and 5000 metres races.

The next important international meet is the World Sprint Championships in Moscow next week-end.
