The Insurance Corporation of B-C is warning the public about a scam in which people are called and told they need to renew their insurance coverage by credit card over the phone.
The calls began last month, but I-C-B-C says they are not being made by the Corporation or Autoplan brokers.
I-C-B-C says if anyone who received such a call made a payment they should call the police.
The corporation says the calls appear to be a part of a nation-wide telephone scam and originate in various parts of the U-S.
