A senior hockey player has died after spending nearly three weeks in a coma after hitting his head on the ice during a fight.
Sanderson struck his unprotected head on the ice during a game against the Brantford Blast on Dec. 12.
His helmet came off during a fight with Brantford’s Corey Fulton in the third period.
While briefly regaining consciousness after the incident, he had been in a coma and on life support up until his death.
