As of noon on Christmas eve, the local Liquor Distribution Branch store was five bears short of reaching it’s goal. The LDB outlet had already set a new provincial record for bear sales, but now, with several hours left before story closing at 6 pm, the store has only five bears remaining. That means they have sold 2395 bears, with about $30,000 dollars worth of bears and cash set to go to local charities.
With the new total, the local LDB breaks its own record, which it set last year when it sold 2036. There is still opportunity for local groups to become beneficiaries of the program – if interested, call store Manager Warren Mears, at 250-787-3405.
