The District of Tumbler Ridge is proud to announce the launch of its newly
renovated website: With a totally fresh appearance and format, the new web site is a
reflection of the community itself – clean, modern and easy on the eyes.
In addition to an aesthetic overhaul, the website furthers the District’s continued efforts at enhancing
its communications and providing better service to its residents. “This version of our site is infinitely
more user friendly,” reports Economic Development Officer Ray Proulx, “We undertook a one-click
navigation approach this time around. In other words, we wanted to ensure that people could reach
exactly what they wanted through one mouse click on the homepage.”
Examples of new, convenience-based site features include service request forms, business license
registration forms, as well as the payment of bills and fines.  Interactive communication features
include website feedback forms, e-newsletter subscription and a discussion forum where site users can
share their views on local issues.  Local businesses in particular will benefit from their inclusion in the
online business directory, which actually pinpoints their location on a town map.
While the launch of is a considerable feat in itself, according to Ray Proulx, there is
no time to rest. “The municipal site is part of an ambitious program to redefine the community’s
presence on the web,” he adds,  “In early 2009 we will be launching two additional websites; the first
focused on promoting Tumbler Ridge as a tourism destination, the second will be dedicated to
investment and business development.  We’ve got a lot to share as a community, and we hope these
new sites will shine a virtual spotlight on everything we have to offer.”
