Update: House Fire on 103A Ave Causes Considerable Damage

The Fort St. John Fire Department was called to a house fire Saturday afternoon at around 1:45.

One room in the house on 103A Ave near 91st Street was fully engulf when crews arrived.  This is Fire Chief Fred Burrows.

Everyone in the house was able to escape without injuries, one pet was saved but another died in the fire.  One room in the house was destroyed and smoke caused considerable damage to the rest of the home.  The the house is not livable at this time and will have to be gutted and fully repaired before it can be re-occupied. 

The damage from the fire is believed to be at least $100,000 and the cause is unknown at this time, but the Fire Department will be investigating to hopefully discover the cause.
