Neufeld Suggests greater setback provisions for Oil & Gas

The Campbell government is reportedly now considering new pre-election setback provisions, for the oil and gas industry.

However, Energy Minister Richard Neufeld says, there are no guarantees the revised regulations will be introduced, prior to the spring election.

The Peace River North MLA concedes he’d like to have it happen sooner than later, given that they would impact his constituency.

However, he won’t commit to any time line nor, will he speculate on any of the possible changes.

Setbacks dictate how far wells and pipelines must be, from homes and other places, where people work and live.
